Top Spooky Movies to Wrap up October

By

With October wrapping up in one more week, I thought it would be the perfect time to bring you my list of movies to watch for this month!

Here you can find some for all ages and genres, so let’s get to it!

Family Friendly Movies

These movies are great to watch with everyone. Some discretion is advised of course, but for the most part these are harmless. I also made some small notes for those I believe could be scary for younger viewers. Looking up the parent’s guide on sites like IMDb also help a lot. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Casper (1995)
  • Monster House (2006)
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
  • Corpse Bride (2005)
  • Fun Size (2012)
  • Coraline (2009)
  • Goosebumps (2015)
  • The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It (2007)
  • Halloweentown 1, 2, 3, 4 (1998-2006)
  • Beetlejuice (1988) & Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice (2024)
  • The Addams Family (1991) & Addam’s Family Values (1993)
  • Wednesday (Not a movie, but great as well!) (2022)
  • Hocus Pocus (1993)
  • Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (might be a little too scary for younger children) (2019)

Movies for adults

These are great to watch if you just want something more mature but nothing too gory and scary. Probably some of my favorites, these are good for when you want to feel the light thrills and scares that come with spooky movie watching!

  • Trick r Treat (2007)
  • Sleepy Hollow (1999)
  • Van Helsing (2004)
  • Dracula (1992)
  • Nosferatu (1922, 2024)
  • Practical Magic (1998)
  • The Craft (1996)
  • A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014)
  • Crimson Peak (2015)
  • Let the Right One In (2008)

Slashers/Horror

If you are bold and nothing really terrifies you, these are great to watch too!

  • Halloween series (1978-2022)
  • Scream series (1996-2023)
  • The Witch (2015)
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street series (1984-2010)
  • Friday the 13th Series (1980-2009)
  • The Blair Witch Project (1999)
  • The Lighthouse (2019)
  • Jeepers Creepers (2001)
  • Child’s Play (1988)
  • The Conjuring (2013)

Check out Willys Wonderland is a lot of fun. I would say it’s like a horror comedy. Nick Cage meets Five Nights of Freddy. Look forward to your Christmas list. Jingle All The Way is my favorite.
