Hello everyone so it has been awhile since I was able to post an entry! I was sick for about a week and a half and then the following week I was recovering/reorganizing.
Now that I am back on track again, I’d love to discuss the topic of giving grace. This is something I have always tried to do but especially with the holidays coming up, it’s more important now than ever to show grace to others.
What do I mean by this?
During the holidays I have noticed emotions are high, whether for the better or for the worse. We don’t always know the reasons behind them or why people choose to do what they do.
For some people the holidays can be a painful time, memories of lost loved ones, or unfavorable family dynamics, whatever the case may be, the holidays aren’t fun for those who deal with these things. So making sure to be graceful to those who may lash out or do things out of pain and frustration isn’t just something to consider, it’s essential.
Those people may remember how you treated them during a low point in the year, or maybe having that gentle reminder that there is still good in the world can make their holidays a little brighter.
It’s not about letting those step over you, it’s about being gentle to those who need it.
Some people won’t be celebrating much because of grief or because they don’t have the means to. Being that source of light during such a difficult time is a blessing to those who search for it.
It doesn’t have to translate to every holiday season either. This is something we should practice every day as members of the human race. Do good unto others, is a golden rule that we should live by. Be charitable and humble, give grace and practice gratitude.
Hope this entry was able to offer some deep reflection, comment your experiences and thoughts! Thank you for visiting the blog! 🙂
