Hey everyone! January passed by in a blur! But no worries, here are some things I found memorable and worth recommending. Here are my 2026 January favorites. 🙂
Saiyaara from the film of the same name
Although I am not familiar with the language that the song Saiyaara is being sung in it doesn’t mean that I don’t find the melody and the meaning behind it absolutely beautiful.
The song is from the film of the same name and is sung by Ahaan Panday. It tells of a longing between two lovers, my star, it calls out to them.
Whether you understand the language or don’t, you can’t deny its dreamy quality. It makes you hope for a resilient and enduring love as the song speaks.
Saiyarra (2025) directed by Mohit Suri

Saiyaara is a film directed Mohit Suri. It made waves in the Indian community and I was fortunate enough to hear about it through my boyfriend.
The film follows the characters of Krish Kapoor and Vaani Batra where they navigate romance, career, passion, and purpose. The film showcases a plethora of songs that pull on your heart strings and leave you invested in the characters.
With a love like Krish’s and Vaani’s, audiences are made to dream for something worth fighting for no matter what.
The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky

The Idiot is my first Dostoevsky novel, it was recommended to me by someone who made a huge impact on my life. The book follows the story of Prince Myshkin, a kind and pure hearted man who finds himself amidst the troubled elite.
This book shows a sharp contrast between the Prince’s goodness, and the destruction and chaos surrounding him. I found myself just as confused as the Prince at times.
It is a commentary on how people can exploit good people. Prince Myshkin’s unwavering kind spirit becomes a test to high society. Do they see him as a pure hearted soul or nothing more than an idiot?
It calls back to the topic in my previous article, is it good to be perceived or not?
