My April 2026 favorites

By

Hey guys, it’s been a minute since I have done one of these it’s just been so crazy lately! Luckily there was a lot of content I loved this month that I am excited to share with you all 🙂

Self Aware by Temper City

This song has been on my mind since it released! It sounds like the perfect opening to spring where warmth and the promise of new memories are just on the horizon.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this song is from a relatively smaller band. I found it from scrolling around on social media and it has been steadily picking up popularity in the last two months.

It just goes to show that getting your creative work out there can always reach a new audience. Click on the link to support new artists! 🙂

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen created by Haley Z. Boston

This show has been on my watch list since the trailer dropped and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a Netflix miniseries and follows a soon to be bride days before her wedding.

Without giving too much away, this show is kinda like wedding cold feet but on steroids. If you’re getting married soon and anxious about it, I wouldn’t recommend. The feeling of intense dread is palpable in every episode.

This is a slow burn series but I enjoyed watching the acting and the story (it’s definitely a unique idea). Essentially it’s a test on true love and it’s importance on marrying the right person.

Before the coffee gets cold by 川口 俊和

This Japanese novel was recommended to me by a coworker who kindly let me borrow it. I was reading during a lunch break and the topic came up about how it’s my goal to read at least 60 books by the end of the year.

This novel follows a couple of short stories that center on this mystical cafe that allows people to time travel. Well at least until the coffee gets cold. With a set of rules to abide by, the stakes become higher and one question remains: What would you change if you could travel back in time?

The topic of time travel and time in general has always been of interest to me so this book is right up my alley. It is a fairly light read so if you’re looking for something short and bittersweet, I would pick this book for your next read!
