My September Favorites

By

Do you remember the 21st night of September? ๐ŸŽถ It’s that time of the month where I bring you my favorite things I either watched, read, or listened to! Let’s begin!

Everything is romantic by Charli xcx (Wuthering Heights Trailer Version)

Although I am not a fan of the direction the Wuthering Heights adaptation is being taken, I appreciate the amazing remix of Charlie xcx’s song, Everything is romantic that plays during the trailer.

As someone who constantly has her head in the clouds, and romanticizes the littlest things, it was no wonder that this song would stick to me like glue. I have been listening to it on repeat as I wash dishes, brush my teeth, and during just about any quiet moment to myself.

It sounds epic and exciting, making mundane tasks fun to do. I go to la la land and dream about everything I have ever known and everything I will know. ๐Ÿ’ซ

Game of Thrones written by George R. R. Martin & David Benioff

The great thing about being late to a party is I don’t have to wait for each season to come out. The bad news? I have heard it doesn’t end on a good note.

I have never seen this series. The only things I knew were a couple characters names from buzz on the internet and that it’s a very explicit type of show.

It was one of the reasons why I was hesistant to watch. As someone who isn’t a fan of extreme gore scenes, I found myself nervous to watch. So far I am still on season 1, but I have enjoyed the family dynamics and the characters so far! My favorites would have to be Arya Stark and the little wolf pups ๐Ÿ™‚

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

This book made me learn SO much. As someone who values productivity and learning new efficient ways to do things, I was interested in learning how to get better with my habits.

Not only did I learn these 7 habits, I was surprised to learn how to be a better communicator. When it comes to socializing I have always been shy but I have improved so much with age and experience.

It’s always good to keep learning. I found myself nodding along thinking. Yes, that makes sense. I do need to do more of this and less of that. I highly recommend it to those who like having their perspectives challenged and are open to improving their interpersonal skills.

Honorable Mentions:

Unlike Me by Kate Havnevik, another catchy song. This one really resonated with me as someone who is always feeling odd or strange compared to other people.

Alone With You in the Ether by Olivie Blake, I have much to say about this book that I am debating whether to make a blog post about it. This book took me by surprise as I read the first 5 pages and wasn’t feeling it, to absolutely plowing through it in less than 3 days. Olivie Blake’s prose is mesmerizing!

I love books, movies, shows, and music. My life blood! I have seen Game of Thrones. I binged seasons 1-7 the end of 2018. I have only seen the first two episodes of season 8, but not because of the internet, lol. It just wasn’t capturing me, but I do intend to finish it. I, too, didn’t initially watch GoT because of how extreme I heard it was. I have listened to Unlike Me by Kate Havnevik a couple times since you talked about it on Threads. I love the lyrics ๐Ÿ‘Œ I will look into the books you read and the Charli XCX song! I watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy last week and I started watching it again yesterday. It gives me fall/winter cozy vibes, so I always watch it this time of year every year. Tuesday, I watched a movie called Frybread Face and Me. It’s about a Navajo boy from San Diego who visits relatives who live on a reservation in Arizona. It was interesting. I’m currently reading Star Wars: Cloak of Destiny. It’s so good. I’m almost done. The songs stuck in my head currently are Concerning Hobbits from Fellowship of the Ring. My favorite song of the trilogy! Also, Honestly, I from the new Yellowcard album and Coming Home by New Found Glory.
